Happy New Year Wanderlusters 🌎

Happy New Year! Just like that, a WHOLE ‘nother year has seemed to fly by, and it’s January again. 2018 brought Sean and I a lot of amazing memories together.

We…

1.) Traveled to 9 other states + Washington D.C.

2.) Ran the Pittsburgh Half Marathon together – a first for Sean & second for me

3.) Took our first trip to Ireland and LOVED IT

All in all, it was truly a wonderful year spent together, and one we will continue to treasure. But as always, I’ve written up some of my own personal goals and aspirations for 2019.

Cliche, right?

But I just love the idea of a clean slate. That feeling of being at the very beginning of something and not knowing what’s to come – but being excited anyways.

You know that feeling when you wake up while the sky is still dark and the whole day is in front of you? 😃 It’s like that.

Anyway, I usually draw up a ridiculous list of things I want to change or improve, but this year, I tried to keep it more simple. I’m going to share a few of my own good intentions for 2019, and I hope you’ll leave me a comment with some of yours as well. ❤️

Here’s to reaching our New Year’s goals – and then making more 😉

2019 Goals

  • Read one book EVERY single month. I don’t care if it’s just a fun read or something to challenge and grow me as a person. I just want to read more. If you have any special book recommendations, leave them in the comments for me!
  • Post more consistently on social media and the blog. I took a few steps back from it all for a while because I started to ask myself what the point was. It seemed that I wasn’t enjoying being on my phone all of the time, trying to post content to IG stories/feed, Facebook, the blog, Pinterest etc. I felt like it took me out of the moment from the things I was trying to share about. Coming back into it, I’d like to go about it all a little differently. I want to push myself to be more active with it all and still find a way to enjoy the actual experience because we realized we LOVE having the stories and posts to look back on and reflect over all of our trips.
  • Be more active than not. I feel as if I’ve reached a point where caring about how many calories I eat or burn just doesn’t matter. I just want to feel good in my body, and for me that means staying active and becoming more fit (while still maintaining a healthy diet). Whether it’s going to the gym, working out at home, running around the block or hiking a mountain, I just want to move my body more.
  • Adventure More, Spend Less, Invest the Rest. This is pretty much my motto for 2019, and my final big “Goal”. In the last year and a half, Sean and I have done quite a bit of traveling in our spare time. This year, we want to keep that rhythm going, but explore new places even MORE while managing to spend LESS. What we save, I want to invest and watch our travel fund grow!

Don’t forget to let me know what some of your resolutions/goals/intentions/aspirations are for this New Year. I’m excited to hear them! And thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Jamie
