A Weekend in Washington D.C.
Over Memorial Day weekend, Sean and I took a trip out to our nation’s capital. We were able to book a place super last minute in Baltimore. We would have loved to book somewhere a little closer, but we were happy just to have a place to stay that didn’t cost us a fortune. I had visited Washington DC before with some of my 8th grade class as part of a school trip, but Sean had never been, so I was excited to share this experience with him. We had a full two days in the city, and with a limited budget, we found this was one of the best…

Virginia Beach on a Budget
Sean and I LOVE traveling and exploring new places, but we also have this desire to do that full time. So for us, that means taking a lot of weekend trips throughout the year that don’t break the bank or set us back on our goals. We recently took some time to visit Virginia Beach, and although we only had a day to explore what has become the largest city within the common wealth, we found that there were plenty of ways to have fun that didn’t put a dent in our wallets (or our goals).

1 Day in Virginia Beach
On one of our latest weekend trips, Sean and I took a drive to Virginia and spent a day at the beach. Being from California, I had never visited the Atlantic Ocean before, so it was a really great first experience – for me AND our dog, Raven. We live closer to Pittsburgh in PA, and we decided to drive to Virginia after work on Friday. It took us about 8 hours, but we finally made it to the beach just as the sun was coming up. I know in just one day that there is plenty more to see than we ere able to. We gathered lots of suggestions…

3 Ways to Save Money on Accommodations
Accommodations can be the largest expense when traveling. Even something small like a weekend trip can start to rack up the bill. Sean and I have grown accustomed to scouting out the best deals and pushing ourselves to save money wherever we can. As two people who still work full time, we’re limited on how often we can travel, but not on how much we can get out of our trips. By saving on where we stay, we allow ourselves to enjoy more EXPERIENCES.

4 Scams to Avoid In Italy
Italy, and Florence specifically, has been one of our favorite places to visit so far. The food, the culture and let’s be honest – the wine were all incredible. We made our way from Venice through Florence and ended in Rome. Each stop along the way taught us a different lesson and added to our list of “experiences to avoid”. I think we can agree that Rome taught us the most by far. Sean and I were lucky in that we did our research ahead of time. Otherwise, I can totally imagine us coming home totally scammed out. If you’re going to be traveling to Italy this summer, we recommend…

Our Top 10 “MISTAKES” Traveling Abroad & What to Do Instead
Sean and I took our first trip abroad together a couple months ago, and it was absolutely incredible! We traveled through Greece, Germany and ended in Italy. It was our first time being outside of the country, and it was our longest trip to date. In total, we spent three weeks in a paradise filled with crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, the best gyros, endless amounts of wine & beer, an overwhelming amount of pizza, and flavor after flavor of gelato. We watched some of the most beautiful sunsets, tanned on the shores of some of the world’s best beaches, ate everything from authentic street food to four-course cuisine, and…

Europe: The Highlights
Okay, so my last post about Europe was all about the things we would change the next time around. I feel like there was a decent amount of things that we learned on that trip, especially because it was our first one abroad. But just like there were a few challenges here and there, there was also an incredible amount of awesomeness (if that’s a word?) throughout the entire trip.

6 Trips You NEED To Add To Your Bucket List
2017 brought me to a lot of new and interesting places. Sean and I explored a little bit of California together before we jumped on a plane and flew to Europe. We made our way around Greece, Germany and Italy before jetting back to California and driving across the United States to our “final destination” of PA. I put that in quotes because for us, I don’t think there will ever really be a final destination, at least as long as we’re both alive and healthy. We each have a pretty similar bucket list of places we want to venture to; and that list pretty much includes EVERYWHERE. I think…

How To Plan A Road Trip With Your Dog
Because dogs can turn their dreams into reality too, right? I know some people just have pets to have pets, but me? Raven is my little fur baby, and I want to take her with us on all of our adventures. Unfortunately, she’s a little too big to fly with us on our international trips (plus she’s a pitbull which is pretty much a forbidden breed on airplanes), but Raven still gets to come with us on lots of exciting vacations.
