Foxburg, PA
Recently, Sean and I took a trip to the small, but charming, town of Foxburg, Pennsylvania. One of Sean’s very good friends was getting married in the area, so we took the weekend to explore all that Foxburg had to offer. While Foxburg, PA has never been high on our list of places to travel to, we were interested to learn some of the fascinating history that surrounds the area.

Roanoke, Virginia Is For Lovers
Roanoke, Virginia is for lovers – lovers of fine wines, gorgeous scenery, furry friends and healthy restaurants. To be honest, Virginia is the first place that Sean and I have visited together that has felt like home.

DUBLIN: What to SEE, DO, EAT, DRINK & HOW to GET AROUND/WHERE to STAY
Sean and I had the chance to spend about a week in Dublin while we visited Ireland. Just like most cities, Dublin has a little something for everyone. There’s plenty of history to be explored, hip coffee shops and an incredibly fun night life. Whatever you’re visiting for, Dublin has you covered.

A Day in Pittsburgh with Mom & Dad
This past weekend, my parents flew in to PA from California. It was their first time coming to see me since I’d moved away from home, and I was so excited to show them everything our little part of Western PA had to offer. We spent the first part of our weekend showing them one of our local state parks, Moraine, and went out boating on Lake Arthur. It was a nice, sunny day but wasn’t too warm, so it was a perfect day to be out on the water. We had the girls with us that day as well, so they got a chance to spend a little time…

The Tastiest Place to Eat In Ireland – Murphy’s Ice Cream
While in Galway, we stumbled upon the cutest little ice cream shop. Walking around the Latin Quarter, we passed person after person carrying cones that looked soooo delicious! So, when we came across the shop, we both were already pretty certain that we’d be going in. Outside, one of their employees stood in an apron and tweed hat, handing out samples of their Dingle Sea Salt flavor. Once we tried it, we were hooked. All of the ice cream at Murphy’s is handmade in Dingle, and their sea salt comes straight from the Dingle Sea. We headed inside to pick out some cones to try, but we initially got distracted by…

Irish Explorer Bus Tour: Day 5 – GALWAY & CONNEMARA
After a pretty late night of pub hopping around Galway, we woke up bright and early to join our tour group for breakfast in our hotel. The day was packed with all kinds of activities that I honestly wasn’t too excited about. But one of the things that I’ve learned from being on this tour is that those are the days that often times seem to surprise us!

Irish Explorer Bus Tour: Day 3 – DONEGAL & SLIEVE LEAGUE
The last couple of days, we’ve stayed in Donnegal in this hotel called Mill Park. The hotel is okay, but it seems like each guest has some little thing that could be improved. One couple didn’t have any pictures hanging in their room, one said they had to maneuver the toilet a special way for it to flush, and for us – and many others – we could not connect to the wifi, and if we did the connection was very weak and did not last long at all. They’re little things, but sometimes they are what determine your experience in a place. For us, ample access to some decent…

Irish Explorer Bus Tour: Day 2 – DONEGAL & GAME OF THRONES
In Ireland at this time of year, the sun stays up until nearly eleven o’clock at night. After not realizing quite how late it was and a few too many coffees, we found ourselves awake until close to 2 am last night. So, when our alarms went off at 6:30 this morning, we were far from well rested. But we drug ourselves out of bed and made it downstairs just in time for breakfast.

A Weekend in Washington D.C.
Over Memorial Day weekend, Sean and I took a trip out to our nation’s capital. We were able to book a place super last minute in Baltimore. We would have loved to book somewhere a little closer, but we were happy just to have a place to stay that didn’t cost us a fortune. I had visited Washington DC before with some of my 8th grade class as part of a school trip, but Sean had never been, so I was excited to share this experience with him. We had a full two days in the city, and with a limited budget, we found this was one of the best…

1 Day in Virginia Beach
On one of our latest weekend trips, Sean and I took a drive to Virginia and spent a day at the beach. Being from California, I had never visited the Atlantic Ocean before, so it was a really great first experience – for me AND our dog, Raven. We live closer to Pittsburgh in PA, and we decided to drive to Virginia after work on Friday. It took us about 8 hours, but we finally made it to the beach just as the sun was coming up. I know in just one day that there is plenty more to see than we ere able to. We gathered lots of suggestions…
