Irish Explorer Bus Tour: Day 6 – KILLARNEY & CLIFFS OF MOHER

At this point, I’m a bit behind in trying to recap each day. We’ve been pretty busy between all of the driving around and of course, the pub hopping. Haha. I wish I was able to get some writing done on the bus, but unfortunately it always makes me feel sick.

But anyway, day 6 on the tour was one of our favorites. They’ve all been great, but this was a day that we got to knock a pretty big bucket list item off of our lists. The Cliffs of Moher.

We had stopped in County Donegal to see the Slieve League Cliffs a few days prior, and they were incredible. So, we were really excited to see this next set of famous cliffs. Once we arrived, we had two and half hours to enjoy the cliffs and grab some lunch. We opted to skip on trying out one of their cliffside restaurants and chose to spend all of our time enjoying the views. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. In fact, it’s been pretty sunny and warm the entire time we’ve been here. There was hardly a cloud in sight. We honestly had a hard time understanding why anyone was inside eating or checking out the gift shop. Like I said, we only had a couple of hours, but we could have spent all day here. There’s a really awesome cliffside trail that you can walk, and we tried to make it as far as we could. We didn’t make it quite to the end, but we were stopping quite a bit to take in the views and snap some good photos. Sean even took the opportunity to fly our drone for the very first time, and we managed to get some pretty awesome shots that we’re excited to put together in an upcoming YouTube video.

I thought it was hilarious. He was nervous about flying and wanted to stay away from any type of crowd. Two poor ladies walked underneath it while he was getting ready to land it and stood there watching it. Sean was stressed at the idea of something going awry during the landing so he yelled at them to “please – WALK AWAY” 😂 They left in a hurry and Sean felt so bad for the tone he took with them. There was nothing to fear though. He landed it perfectly fine.

Once we left the cliffs, we headed to Killarney. Upon arriving, the hotel manager came out to welcome us and tell us that they had held tickets for anyone who would want to go the Gaelic Roots performance. We were a little hesitant about spending sixty euros, but we ended up going and had a great time. The show was a collection of traditional, Irish song, dance and music. All of the performers were amazing and looked like they were having a blast being up on stage. It was so fun to watch and a great way to start our time in Killarney. Plus, we ended up seeing them again later…
